APE Collaborative: APE Advocacy and Best Teaching Practices

Hello all and welcome to another episode of What's New in APE! For this episode, I am able to share the most recent APE Collaborative hosted by the National Consortium for Physical Education for Individuals with Disabilities (NCPEID). This is a brand new collaborative, where experts in the field of APE are invited to speak on a specific topic and then viewers are able to interact with one another and the experts. For this collaborative, the guest speakers were Dr. Suzanna Dillon (Professor at Texas Woman's University) and Brad Weiner (APE Teacher at Fairfax County Public Schools). Both of these panelists are former What's New in APE podcast guests and renown scholars and practitioners within the field of APE. Dr. Dillon discusses how to promote and advocate APE to others outside of the field of APE, such as school administrators and parents. The second panelist, Brad Weiner, discusses a range of APE teaching strategies one can utilize to deliver more effective APE services to students. Please click here to view the live stream Facebook feed for the APE Collaborative!

The next NCPEID sponsored APE collaborative will feature Dr. Luis Columna (Professor at University of Wisconsin- Madison) and Dr. Linda Hilgenbrink (APE Teacher at Denton Public Schools). They will discuss different APE programming models, such as Partner PE and Fit Families.
