Parent Advocacy for Adapted Physical Education: Part 2

This week's episode focuses again on the utmost important issue of parent advocacy for adapted physical education. The panel consisted of In this episode we were joined by Rocco Aiello, an APE coordinator and author; Sherry St. Clair, a parent of a person with a disability; and Dr. Garth Tymeson, a professor at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. The panel discusses the transition process for parents and physical education, adapted physical activity programs in the community, and the somewhat recent Dear Colleague Letter on extracurricular activities.

The Dear Colleague Letter on Extracurricular Activities...This resource can be brought to any IEP meeting to help inform our administration and teachers about the rights of our students in regards to participation in extracurricular activities at school.

"Parent Packet", which is a document created by Dr. Tymenson, which he uses to help inform parents about their children's rights in regards to physical education. *Note this for use specifically in the state of Wisconsin.
